Ethernet: An Insurance Company Upgrades Its Cablesys Pre-terminated Patch Panel System
Published by Cablesys on May 6th 2022
Columbia, Missouri - IT staff at an insurance company expanded its Cablesys’ Pre-terminated Patch Panel System. They deployed six Ethernet ports over a Category 6A (CAT 6A) copper-rated system to expand their 10G network. Cablesys helped build the materials.
Cablesys built a 6-Port CAT 6A patch panel. The process involved terminating CAT 6A Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) keystone connectors onto 650MHz CAT 6A UTP cables in 75-foot lengths. All terminations were tested using a Fluke DSX8000 cable analyzer. Bezels were applied to the connectors, which allows them to snap into the patch panel. The cables were bundled and labeled to make routing and identification easy. Rear cable management brackets were ordered to support the cable.
Once their staff received the materials at the project site, they screwed the patch panel onto a server rack, routed the cables, and snapped in the connectivity. The project required no on-site termination and testing.
