Fiber: A Data Center Installs Cablesys Pre-terminated Patch Panel System
Published by Cablesys on Aug 12th 2022
California – IT staff at a data center expanded their 10G network over fiber using Cablesys Pre-terminated Patch Panel System . They deployed 192 fiber ports. Cablesys helped build the materials.
Cablesys built four 48-Port fiber optic patch panels . The process involved terminating LC connectors onto OM3 Laser-Optimized Multimode cables in 25-foot lengths. The connectors were assembled into bezels with LC adapters, which allows them to snap into the patch panel. The cables were bundled and labeled to make routing and identification easy. All terminations were factory polished, inspected, and 3D and performance tested.
Once their staff received the materials at the project site, they screwed the patch panel and cable management brackets onto server racks, routed the cables, and snapped in the connectivity. To interconnect to network equipment, they installed Cablesys stocking LC Uni-boot patch cables with OM4 LSZH cables in 5-meter lengths. The project required no on-site termination and testing.
