Fiber: A Steel Services Company Installs Cablesys Pre-terminated Fiber Optic Patch Panel System
Published by Cablesys on May 18th 2023
Ohio – A steel services company specializing in processing flat-rolled metals, pipe, and tube recently upgraded their communications network to 10G by installing Cablesys Pre-terminated Fiber Optic Patch Panel System. Their staff added 576 fibers to accommodate this upgrade, and Cablesys was instrumental in building the necessary materials for this project.
Cablesys built six 96-fiber LC-MPO patch panels to ensure optimal performance, each designed with cassettes to protect fiber terminations. These cassettes contain 24 fiber ports and can easily snap onto the patch panel. In addition to the patch panels, Cablesys also built MPO patch cables in 5 and 10-meter lengths, which were then connected to the cassettes on the rear of the patch panel. The cables were bundled and labeled to simplify routing and identification. All terminations were tested using a Fluke DSX8000 cable analyzer.
Upon receiving the materials, the steel services company's personnel mounted the bracket panels onto the network racks, snapped in the connectivity, and routed the cables to the appropriate network equipment.
