Ethernet + Fiber: Union in British Columbia Installs Cablesys Pre-terminated Patch Panel System
Published by Cablesys on Dec 17th 2018
One of the largest and most diverse unions in British Columbia needed a quick way to add patch panels to their existing cabling system. The upgrade required patch panels to be installed in multiple server cabinets, support 10-Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth, and work with copper-based and fiber optic network equipment. Cablesys built two types of pre-terminated patch panels; Category 6A Copper and OM3 Fiber Optic. Since the patch panels were going to be interconnected, Cablesys applied snap-in bezels onto both ends of the cable assembly. The cable assemblies were also built to specific lengths to keep the cable pathways in the data center clear of unnecessary cable slack. Once the Union’s IT staff received the shipment, all they had to do was screw on the bracket panels into each server cabinet, route the cables, and snap in the connectivity.
