Ethernet: DOE Installs Cablesys Pre-terminated Patch Panel System
Published by Cablesys on Nov 28th 2018
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) located in California needed a quick way to add patch panel connectivity to their existing cabling system because their deployment date was very time-sensitive. The upgrade only required six RJ45 Ethernet ports. Furthermore, all additional connectivity needed to support up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth. Also, the cabling had to extend 200 feet between two server racks. Cablesys used Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) connectors and cable to build the patch panel, then shipped it quickly after assembly. The FTP connectors aided in eliminating high electromagnetic interference from neighboring network equipment after installation. Once the DOE IT staff received the shipment, all they had to do was screw a bracket panel onto each server rack, route the cable, and snap in the connectivity. The patch panel system was installed within minutes.
