Ethernet: A Military Branch Installed Pre-terminated Patch Panels
Published by Cablesys on Jan 11th 2021
Norman, Oklahoma – A military branch deployed 216 data drops using Cablesys’ Pre-terminated Patch Panel System. They needed to connect computers and network equipment to servers in areas with no outlets. To resolve the issue, they installed the pre-terminated patch panel with outlet box.
The outlet box offered a flexible way to provide data outlets in an open environment. Each outlet box is made with sturdy ABS plastic to withstand harsh environments. Cablesys built forty boxes, each with six Category 5e data ports pre-terminated to Category 5e cable. The cable lengths extended 25, 50, 75, and 100 feet. On the opposite end of each cable a bezel was built, which snapped into a bracket panel mounted on to the server rack.
The system was pre-tested to TIA® performance standards before shipping. Once the materials were received, they screwed the bracket panels onto a rack, snapped in the connectivity, routed the cables, and laid the outlet boxes down.
