Ethernet+Fiber: City Government Installed Pre-terminated Patch Panels
Published by Cablesys on Mar 16th 2020
Ashland, Oregon - IT staff working for the city deployed over 100 data drops using Cablesys’ Pre-terminated Patch Panels. Their network supported Ethernet bandwidth, so they ordered Category 5e (CAT5e) and LC fiber optic patch panels.
Cablesys built two types of cable assemblies; 12 and 96 ports pre-terminated with CAT5e UTP and single-mode fiber optic cables, respectively. The cables extended fifty feet to interconnect equipment from different locations.
The system was pre-tested to TIA® performance standards before shipping. Once the materials were received, they screwed the bracket panels onto the racks, routed the cables, and snapped in the connectivity.
