Ethernet: An Aerospace Company Installed Pre-terminated Patch Panels
Published by Cablesys on Sep 29th 2020
Huntsville, Alabama – An engineering, technical and IT services company deployed 108 data drops using Cablesys’ Pre-terminated Patch Panels. They needed to connect computers and network equipment to servers in an area with no data outlets. To resolve the issue, they installed Cablesys’ Pre-terminated Patch Panel System with an outlet box.
The outlet box offers a flexible way to provide a data outlet in an open environment. It is made with sturdy ABS plastic to withstand harsh environments. Cablesys built eighteen boxes, each with six Category 5e data ports pre-terminated to Category 5e cable. The cables extended 25, 50, 75, and 100 feet to interconnect the equipment from different locations. The opposite end of the cable snaps into a bracket panel mounted on a server rack.
The system was pre-tested to TIA ® performance standards before shipping. Once the materials were received, they were able to complete installation. They screwed the bracket panels onto the rack, snapped in the connectivity, routed the cables, and laid the boxes down.
